Conquer The Mountain
©1996 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
"Lord, why does this shadow darken my way?
I've walked in Your light for so long.
But the mountain I'm facing makes night out of day.
This mountain, so solid and strong."
"I know You are listening and that You still care -
You said that would always be so.
But the mountain I see rising up in the air
Is so big and it frightens my soul."
And when I was finished God spoke to my heart,
"That mountain is nothing to me.
Have faith as I've taught you and I'll do my part.
I'll move it right into the sea.
That mountain is nothing to me."
Conquer the mountain
Fly like the eagles that sail through the clouds
With the wind in their wings
Conquer the mountain
Trust in God's faithfulness
You know that our Lord will provide all we need
Come, see what the Lord wants to do through you and me
Fed by His promise I suddenly find
My heart and my soul are restored
Like millions before me and millions behind
I'll go in the strength of the Lord
Conquer the mountain that towers above us
Blocking our view of the Son
We can do all things through Jesus who loves us
In Him the battle is won
Conquer the mountain
Trust in God's promises
Mustard seed faith is all that we need
Conquer the mountain
Trust in God's promises
He'll move that mountain right into the sea
Come, see what the Lord wants to do through you and me
Now on with the journey
Sharing the good news, praising His name
If we keep trusting He'll show us His power
We'll never again be the same
Conquer the mountain
Fly like the eagles that sail through the clouds
With the wind in their wings
Conquer the mountain
Trust in God's faithfulness
You know that our Lord will provide all we need
Come, see what the Lord wants to do through you and me
Come, see what the Lord wants to do through you and me
Come, see what the Lord wants to do in you and me

Sudden Spins
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
©1997 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
The life we live while on this earth
Is filled with sudden spins
We're hurt by undeserving losses
And cheered for lucky wins
We move so fast and want to much
And think we have control
But it's really just illusion
And it melts like summer snow
Because it's Your world, Father
And we're thankful that it is
Please help us to remember
When we're faced with sudden spins
Yes, it's Your world, Father
And we're thankful that it is
Please help us to remember
When we're faced with sudden spins
How can this life be so fragile
And what was here be gone
How can everything we hold so close
Be real, but not for long
Why do we believe the way things are
Is the way they'll always be
Why do we only look through our own eyes
When it's Your eyes that can see
Because it's Your world, Father
You can calm the waves and wind
And calm our trembling spirits
When the winds of change blow in
Yes, it's Your world, Father
And we're thankful that it is
Please help us to remember
When we're faced with sudden spins
Of all the things I've wondered, Lord
One answer now I know:
The world is turning at Your will
And it ever shall be so
Because it's Your world, Father
I'm really thankful that it is
And I promise to remember
When I'm faced with sudden spins
Yes, it's Your world, Father
And we're thankful that it is
Please help us to remember
When we're faced with sudden spins
Lord, help us to remember
When we're faced with sudden spins

Daddy, Thanks
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
© Dugan and Greer, 1998
When I was young, you carried me
Upon a pony called your knee
To places that were only seen
By you and me in shared daydreams
Soon too big for pony rides
I chased my daydreams by your side
And learned that it was not your knee
Your strength of heart still carried me
Oh Daddy, thanks for all you've done
I'm grateful that you were the one
God gave me to to be your own
In loving me the love of God you've shown
Through the years from then 'til now
I've made and kept this solemn vow
I never will forget those days
But sometimes I forgot to say
Oh Daddy, thanks for all you've done
I'm grateful that you were the one
God gave me to to be your own
In loving me the love of God you've shown
And you gave me more than I could see
You gave yourself unselfishly
And you gave love, a love just like
Our Father above
So Daddy, thanks for all you've done
I'm grateful that you were the one
God gave me to to be your own
In loving me the love of God you've shown
In loving me the love of God you've shown

Even That
©1997 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
The knife that flashed, then cut me deep
Wasn't made of tempered steel
The two-edged blade was made of words
But the wound was just as real
I fell down like a crippled bird and cried in selfish plea
"Lord, I thought You said You cared!
Why let this come to me?"
"Even that. Even that.
I am Lord of all the universe and Lord of even that.
I can use the worst of passion, I can use the best of pain.
Use them as your teachers or to glorify My name.
I used the cross of Calvary,
I used a beggar's mat.
And this trouble that you cry about -
I can use even that."
My diamond flashed as it met the sun,
The gold I wore was pure.
I'd made the score with a clever deal,
My future was secure
I rose up like a mighty bell and let my voice ring free,
"Lord, I know you really care!
All this has come to me!"
"Even that. Even that.
I am Lord of all the universe and Lord of even that.
I used a stone from David's sling
To knock Goliath flat
And this shiny rock you hold so dear -
I can use even that."
"Oh Lord, You are amazing!
Your power now I see...
But I'm so ordinary - too bad you can't use me."
"Even that. Even that.
I am Lord of all the universe and Lord of even that.
I can use the strongest spirit,
I can use the weakest frame.
Use them as your teachers or to glorify My name.
I used a human body as an earthly habitat
And if you give yourself to Me -
I can use even that."
"I used a human body as an earthly habitat
And if you give yourself to Me -
I can use even that."

Life Goes On

Life Goes On
©1997 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
Slowly the crowd leaves the new grave behind
And as they make their way to the cars
A few stop to chat to remeber their friend
And to tell just how sorry they are
They smile at the stories of the good times they have shared
Their friend's not forgotten, just gone
Then someone remarks that it's time they went home
Because it's true what they say - life goes on
No, the world doesn't stop turning
And we don't stop learning
About pain and sorrow and love
Sometimes people leave us and we feel so alone
But it's true what they say - life goes on
Slowly eyes start to open as new light shine in
A light that brings comfort and peace
Life isn't over for a Christian gone home
Just this part of life has now ceased
We know that the power of the grave is now broken
And the painful sting of death is now gone
Because man's mortal body can put on forever
We rejoice in this truth - life goes on
Someday the world will stop turning
But we won't stop learning
About joy and wonder and love
The Son of the promise has the victory won
Because Jesus died once life goes on
Someday the world will stop turning
But we won't stop learning
About joy and wonder and love
The Son of the promise has the victory won
Because Jesus died once life goes on
Because of Jesus our Lord life goes on

You Don't Have To Go To Nashville
©1997 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
All my life I'd praised the Lord with songs that I would sing
My audience would hear it clear that Jesus was my king
I was singin' for His glory and I went just where He led
Then the praise of men got in my skin
And I listened when they said,
"Son, you should be thinkin' Nashville,
Think New York, think L.A.
You've got to play the big towns,
Then the big time comes your way.
The charts are callin' to you with their money and their fame
But if you don't go to Nashville you're not even in the game."
Well, that advice seemed mighty good,
And since I wanted more
I packed my words and my guitar chords
And I headed for the door
But before I left I stopped to see
The preacher from my youth
I was lookin' for his blessing
But what I got was truth
"You don't have to go to Nashville
To make it big with God
And after all He is the One you want to hear applaud
Now, there's nothin' wrong with Nashville,
It's quite a town, I'm told
But the one you need to please
Lives where the streets are made of gold."
Down through the years of joys and fears
Those words have seen me through
In every choice I hear their voice
And I know just what to do
Now I don't care which town I'm in
Or which town I'm traveling toward
Even when I go to Nashville
I go there for my Lord.
You don't have to go to Nashville
To make it big with God
And after all He is the One you want to hear applaud
Now, there's nothin' wrong with Nashville,
It's quite a town, I'm told
But the one you need to please
Lives where the streets are made of gold.

Still, You Hold My Hand
©1997 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
God, You're such a mystery to me
You said that You would heed my smallest plea
You said, "Just ask Me anything -
I'll even hear your whispering"
Now I'm shouting, Lord, please understand
But still, you hold my hand
Facing Mystery without a clue
I turn to run away from You
I want to go somewhere and hide
I guess it's just my foolish pride
Telling me I'm strong enough to stand
But still, You hold my hand
Jesus is the mystery, revealed
Now my eyes can see and now my soul is healed
Now I know You hear me, Lord
And that You understand
Feel it in my spirit,
Right here in my hand
Lord, there is another mystery:
That You could care for one like me
I know that I'm not worthy of
Your gentle patience and Your perfect love
But without You I am nothing, and
I pray You'll hold my hand
Jesus is the mystery, revealed
Now my eyes can see and now my soul is healed
Now I know You hear me, Lord
And that you understand
Guide me by Your Spirit
Take my by my hand
Now I know You hear me, Lord
And that you understand
Fill me with Your Spirit
Take me by my hand

Hearts That Hear
©1997 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
They were searching for a Savior
A king for this earth
And they were watching for His coming
It would be a most royal birth
And they were hoping to see His face
And they were hoping to hear His voice
Then a shout came down from heaven
In a light bright and clear
But many eyes did not see it
And many ears did not hear
They saw Jesus, but not their Lord
They heard Jesus, but not their Lord
Blessed are those eyes that see
Blessed the ears that hear
Because they recognize their Lord... Rejoice!
If you are searching for a Savior
He is there by your side
And if you're listening for God's Word
Just keep your heart open wide
If you are hoping to see His face
If you are hoping to hear His voice
Blessed are those hearts that see
Blessed the hearts that hear
Because they recognize their Lord... Rejoice!
Blessed are those hearts that see
Blessed the hearts that hear his voice
Because they recognize their Lord... Rejoice!
If you are searching for a Savior
He is there by your side

A Message For Mary
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
© Dugan and Greer, 1999
All around heaven the news was passed on:
God's plan is about to unfold
The Son is now leaving to live among men
But what will they do when they learn He is there
And how will they ever be told?
Then suddenly one sound replaced all the rest
And only God's voice could be heard.
"I'm seeking a servant of courage and worth
To go to the earth with My word."
"I have a message, a message for Mary
Who will see that it goes?
It must be delivered with speed and with care -
It's very important she knows.
She is the chosen one -
She will bear My Son."
"Send me!" cried each angel and the heavenly host
Joined in to offer the same
This wonderful word will bring joy to the girl
The whole earth will soon bless her name
The whole earth will soon bless her name
Then Gabriel stepped out and bowed to the Lord.
"Your message I'll take to the child.
Now, soften her heart to accept what I say
That mankind may be reconciled."
And that very evening they met face-to-face
The angel and the young Nazarene
And though she did not grasp the depth of it all
Mary gave herself to the King
"I have a message, a message for Mary
Who will see that it goes?
It must be delivered with speed and with care -
It's very important she knows.
She is the chosen one -
She will bear My Son."

This Road Is Long

This Road Is Long
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
© Dugan and Greer, 2004
Mary:
You are a good man, Joseph
God knows that, so do I
And when he’s born our son will know
That he’s the apple of your eye
You stood firm before the gossip
You took me as your bride
And I know that God is guiding us
As to Bethlehem we ride.
This road is long, but it’s the way
This road is hard, we must not stray
For the one who made this baby
Makes the path we take today
This road is long, this road is hard
But the answer to our prayers is on the way!
Innkeeper:
Thank goodness for that census
Or our business soon would fold
No one comes to Bethlehem
These days unless they’re told.
But now the inn is filling up
We’ll have no vacancies tonight
Late arrivals sleep outside and
They best bring their own light.
This road is long, but it’s the way
This road is hard, we must not stray
For the town has royal customers
And this is where they’ll stay
This road is long, this road is hard
But the answer to our prayers is on the way!
Wise Men:
We saw that star six months ago
My wise and trusted friend
The road that we’ve been travelling
Will soon come to an end
For now we’re near Jerusalem
That’s where the King must be
And the journey will be worth it
Just a few more days, you’ll see
This road is long, but it’s the way
This road is hard, we must not stray
For the star that we have followed
Lights the path we take today
This road is long, this road is hard
But the answer to our prayers is on the way!
Innkeeper:
The King who brings these customers...
Wise Man:
The God whose star has guided us...
Mary/Joseph:
The One who made this baby
Makes the path we take today
This road is long, this road is hard
But the answer to our prayers is on the way
Yes, the answer to our prayers is on the way!

I Am Barabbas

I Am Barabbas
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
© Dugan and Greer, 1998
(Barabbas)
You just cannot imagine
The dread I felt that day
As I thought about the deeds I'd done
And the price I soon would pay
I was guilty and I knew it
It was true without a doubt
But I was praying for deliverance
When I heard the people shout
(Crowd)
"Give us Barabbas!
We don't want the King of the Jews
You may find no guilt in Him
But we most certainly do
He says He is the Son of God
And for that crime He'll die
So give us Barabbas
As for Jesus - crucify!"
(Barabbas)
And I am Barabbas
I was suddenly set free
Guiltless Christ was led away
And died instead of me
He said He was the Son of God
and for that word he died
He took my place, He took my cross
And he was crucified...
(Narrator)
Well I thought about Barabbas
And the gift that he received
Then I thought about the gift I got
The day that I believed
And I am Barabbas
I was guilty but now I'm free
Sinless Jesus took my sin
And died instead of me
I say He is the Son of God
The truth is plain to see
That I am Barabbas
And God's grace has rescued me

Don't Get Us Wrong
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
© Dugan and Greer, 1998
Peter and the disciples:
We’ve been walking with him for a while
But he can still surprise us.
Don’t get us wrong — we really love our leader Jesus.
But what about that extra mile
And what about the fish he feeds us?
We must admit the trip’s been fun,
So if it seems we’re not excited
Don’t get us wrong — ‘cause on this point we are united:
Even if his plan’s undone,
We’re really glad we were invited.
Don’t get us wrong, don’t get us wrong!
We are very glad we came along.
Soon Jesus’ flag will be unfurled
And we will help him rule the world.
Don’t get us wrong, don’t get us wrong!
Jesus:
I’ve been talking to them for a while
But they still don’t understand.
They’ve got me wrong — even though I led them by the hand
They say they like my style
But I wonder if they’ll like your plan?
They’ve got me wrong, they’ve got me wrong!
And although they’re very glad to walk along
This road that leads to victory,
What will they think of Calvary?
They’ve got me wrong, they’ve got me wrong!

The Sound
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
© Dugan and Greer, 2004
Well you listen to the drummer
‘Cause he’s magic with his sticks
And you listen to the strummer
And his fancy guitar licks.
It’s the rhythm that invites you
To listen to the sound —
It will promise to delight you
And turn your mind around.
But the drumbeats and the soaring strings
Will someday disappear
And the only sound remaining
Will bring you joy or bring you fear
The trumpet will be speaking
And all other sounds will cease
It’s notes will sound like chains to some —
To others sweet release.
And a single sound that sounds like war to some
To some will sound like peace.
The way you hear the trumpet
Won’t depend upon your ear
It won’t matter if you’ve never heard
The sound will still be clear.
What counts is where you’re standing
When the sound invades the land
And the only place you will be safe and sound
Is in the Father’s hand.
So listen to the strummer,
Let the music move your feet.
And listen to the drummer
As he keeps a perfect beat.
But think about the trumpet
And the sound that it will play
When the leader says to heaven’s band
This is the judgment day!
Yes the drumbeats and the soaring strings
Will someday disappear
And the only sound remaining
Will bring you joy or bring you fear
The sound will wake the sleeping
And every eye will see
That Jesus Christ is coming back
To claim his victory
When the trumpet sounds the sound will clearly be:
"My children, come to Me!"

Ordinary Miracles
by Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
©2003 Lewis Greer/Gary Dugan
It’s just a rose with a deep red face
It’s just the right time at just the right place
It’s just a song from a passing bird
It’s just the use of the perfect word
Just simple little things neither here nor there
Just ordinary miracles
Just everyday evidence
That God is everywhere
Ordinary miracles
Who can say where they will be
Sometimes the wonders all around us
And the angels who surround us
Are too clear for us to see
Ordinary miracles
That follow you and me
It’s just a wave crashing on the shore
It’s just a step through an open door
It’s just a cat landing on his feet
It’s just the one you hoped you’d meet
Just simple little things neither here nor there
Just ordinary miracles
Just everyday evidence
That God is everywhere
Ordinary miracles
Who can say where they will be
Sometimes the wonders all around us
And the angels who surround us
Are too clear for us to see
Ordinary miracles
That follow you and me
And a beating heart in a mother's womb
Really can't compare to an empty tomb
You may live your life with an ordinary name
But you are still a miracle, just the same
(Ordinary miracles)
Who can say where they will be
Sometimes the wonders all around us
And the angels who surround us
Are too clear for us to see
Ordinary miracles
Those ordinary miracles
That follow you and me
Ordinary miracles
Those ordinary miracles
That follow you and me

Bring Me Back Home
Lyrics: R.J. Sharp, Lewis Greer
Music: Gary Dugan
© 2003 R.J. Sharp, Lewis Greer and Gary Dugan
Should have never sought her out
'Cause I found her
Now all I can think about
Is being around her
She lives alone, unmarried
But You gave a wife to me
The feelings that I once buried
Have risen up and been set free
Bring me back home where love is true
Where I'm going is wrong, so wrong
So far from You
Why would I do what You've warned me not to do
Bless her for me
Help me break free
Bring me back home
We're holding hands online
Sharing our dreams
Like the stars our hopes align
I'm flying on moonbeams
And I feel the past
Is pulling me back in her arms
I know I should not be fooling around
With hopes of winning her charms
Bring me back home where love is true
Where I'm going is wrong, so wrong
So far from You
Why would I do what You've warned me not to do
Bless her for me
Help me break free
Bring me back home
Bless her for me
Help me break free
Bring me back home

High Flight
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
